Vale First Responders are delighted to announce the affiliation to the British Heart
Foundation “BHF” to run the “Heartstart UK” Emergency Life Support Training courses
locally throughout The Vale.
BHF fully support this initiative with the provision of equipment and ongoing supplies,
continually updating courses as key protocols change.
The figures below look quite shocking, but with a population of about 60 million,
270,000 is less than one in 200. Even at less than one in 200, and if you just
look at the villages of Harby, Barnstone and Langar (joint population about 1800)
then statistically we could see 8 or 9 people in just those villages suffer a heart attack
in 2008. Taken across the Vale of Belvoir, that number suddenly could become 30
or 40 people in the next 12 months.
Do you know what to do ? Could you help preserve a life until help arrived ? If you
can’t answer “yes” to both of those, can you take two hours out to find out how ?
